With 40 majors and 24 minors, numerous pre-professional and special programs, and opportunities to study abroad, CC's academic offerings rival those of much larger universities. In fact, U.S. News & World Report called Cathedral College one of the top ten "best values" in the Northeast.
Nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks, Cathedral College is located in the center of New York state. Whether you enjoy biking and jogging in the rolling hills of the Mohawk Valley or skiing and snowboarding on one of our numerous nearby mountains, Cathedral can offer you a myriad of outdoor recreational activities. In addition, our proximity to major metropolitan areas contributes to our selection of class field trips and extracurricular options.
The Science Program - One of the Best!
The science curriculum at Cathedral College is characterized by rigorous training backed by numerous opportunities for hands-on learning. Our facilities exemplify our dedication to undergraduate research, with first class labs rivaling those at larger institutions. Our newly renovated Gaige Science Center boasts a state-of-the-art observatory, as well as a teaching faculty who are committed to their students. Whether you plan to enter the medical profession, engage in scientific research, or pursue a career in astronomy, CC can help you succeed.
Our core curriculum in science examines natural phenomena, the physical sciences, and biological, evolutionary, and environmental science. In addition, our low faculty-student ratio emphasizes student research, and many of our science majors participate in summer research through grant-funded projects.
Athletics - Catch the Excitement
From the football stadium to the ice rink, athletics play a significant role in the lives of many CC students. Cathedral College has 18 Division I teams including a football team that competed in the Division 1 AA national championship last year. Over 75 percent of the student body participate in a varsity, intramural, club, recreational, or individual sport.
Our outstanding athletic facilities and stimulating outdoor environment help students develop all of their physical talents. CC boasts a 6,000 square foot fitness center, a 2,000-seat hockey arena, a swimming and diving complex, and a recreation center for the College's intramural program. Whether you are a serious athlete or a reluctant jogger, there is something for everyone.
Cathedral College is a place where students can enjoy the diversity and advantages of a large university, while still benefit from the support, personalized attention, and intimacy that only a small college can provide. If you can envision yourself in this environment, one where students from all corners of America -- and the world - show the potential and desire to succeed, then take a closer look at Cathedral College.
